Climate changes in the United States this year have caused disasters. In the blog The Melting Pot by Kristin Mojica, she discusses how the climate has had serious effects worldwide and how Trump and the U.S. aren’t doing anything in their power to reduce global warming. I completely agree with Kristin. Trump has put us on the brink of endangering our natural world by not accepting the Paris climate agreement. This agreement was not accepted for one reason...it’s not good for the U.S. economy. Educating the public on ways to save the environment is a great way to start off. I actually have noticed that in my area people are starting to use compost because the city is providing us with compost bins. They have a 3-hour workshop on the benefits compost provides for our planet and how to use the compost bins. So, I think having people that still care and that are passionate about saving our planet will improve our global circumstances, but it won’t make any huge change. To me, it seems that people aren’t thinking of the consequences that are being made to our environment. For example, in Austin, many trees are being cut down and buildings are replacing them. Although these new buildings look nice they are causing massive destruction to our environment. What we need is someone like the Lorax to be our president! Our environments future is at stake!
