The banning of transgender Americans from serving in the military.

In the opinion article of The New York Times Ms.Beck provides her insight.
After President Donald Trump issued an executive order on August 17, involving the banning of transgender Americans from serving in the military. Kristin Beck, a former Navy seal, served from 1990 to 2011 provides her personal experience on the effects it caused her as a military staff member. Beck calls out every member of Congress and every general officer to stand up and fight for worthy and capable Americans. Beck persuasively argues that the transgender members of the military group are the same as any other member of the military, she demands everybody to be treated equally because heels or no heels she can still “kick ass.”
Beck convinces the reader by using the three appeals of persuasion: ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos, she tells the audience that we supposedly live in “the home of the free” yet we can’t be ourselves without being affected. By using ethos, the audience questions the reader's credentials and character. Pathos, she provides her own story. By using pathos, the reader can connect with Beck at an emotional and personal level. Logos, Beck provides an estimated amount of transgender military serving right now, list of states that have transgender staff, and the amount of money the military spends on health for transgender people. By using logos, the reader can create their conclusions regarding the banning of transgender military staff.
This argument reminds me and others that we are all equal. It doesn’t matter what you classify yourself as or who you like. What matters is that we are all human beings.
